Dark age of camelot full#
I want new game+ - an optional mode that focuses on experiencing all the expansion’s stories, full campaigns, dungeons and raids at max level. I want an ironman mode in WoW - slow leveling, you HAVE TO clear every expansion in order to reach max level. My favorite part of any RPG is the leveling… so why can’t I have fun leveling in WoW? Why does leveling take 10 hours of boredom, doing 2 zones out of any random expansion and then - bam, go to the Shadowlands?
Dark age of camelot how to#
If Blizzard knew how to utilize all the content they have, if they didn’t completely gut the world and didn’t make leveling a boring mess I’d still be around. WoW is a much, much much bigger game than New World and feels much, much smaller. So with 15 years of content behind it… why does WoW feel so boring, bland and small? Because WoW’s moment to moment gameplay is still great - nobody will argue the combat is bad. WoW being old is not the argument you think it is. That’s all WoW is right now - 7 instances. The game holds some of the greatest dungeons and raids ever put in an MMO and it’s been reduced to… 8 mediocre dungeons and 1 pretty good raid. Yet due to Blizzard’s awful decisions it feels absolutely tiny. WoW is 15 years old and is an absolute giant of a game. If a game wants my play time it needs to be fun now. I’m not gonna pity a geriatric game because it’s old. You’re comparing launch numbers of a hyped up game on steam to a 15 year old content drought as proof that you’re right.Īgain, I am saying this - I KNOW. Take your phone’s stopwatch and time carefully how much of your WoW session is spent not having fun actively - doing dailies, callings, renown quests, sitting in the dungeon finder, doing torghast, the maw, or whatever it is you do. This is true in fact for lots of WoW’s active population. WoW for me and for many others is neither. Time is finite and as far as gaming is concerned you can only spend it on games that are meaningful and fun.

I’m not playing New World thinking “oh 3 years from now this game will be x,y,z”. Maybe 9.2 will do that? Maybe Blizz will make The Mage Tower a permanent addition, adding new rewards with new seasons maybe (please pressure them to do so, it is an objectively good decision). Why is there a set of transmog locked behind Korthia dailies? Are Korthia dailies fun? Why are they even dailies, why can’t they be infinitely farmed? Mounts themselves are awfully bland and boring. Even getting your renown mounts is incredibly boring. Nobody can tell me getting rep mounts, Blanchy, Mallie, etc. It can be fixed, but it will not as long as people consider this state of affairs acceptable. But even if WoW is beautiful, the combat is fun… the game simply isn’t.

It’s obvious Blizzard wants WoW to be loot driven, so why not… just make it a looter MMO where gear is plentiful and you replace things often? Why not have Diablo 2 style gear? Where players would be replacing gear all the time. Let’s be fair mainstat+2 secondary stats is boring. Interesting character progression - talent trees, customizable stats, no specs but rather letting us mix and match between the talent trees, Diablo 2 style.Things like profession bonuses should be brought back and in my opinion - best gear should come from professions. Meaningful and interesting professions that are both engaging to level up and rewarding.Maybe have tougher zones that are hard for a player in fresh 60 gear and require ilvl 240+ to just progress in them. The content itself isn’t dead on arrival and remains engaging as you gear up. Meaningful world content with interesting and engaging progressions that aren’t staggered by a daily or weekly reset. It’s like eating sugar with a spoon - sure, it’s perfect sweetness but it’s empty, meaningless calories. But the reason to engage with it for me at least doesn’t exist. The moment to moment gameplay in WoW is still probably the most fun out of any game. WoW is an old game… but it’s not a dated game. Maybe in 15 years you will get some swimming animations Sources please? Where do you get these numbers from?Īlso comparing a brand new mmo launch to a 15 year old mmo content drought is laughable.
